"Art is my canvas for the unspeakable; it is where the colors speak louder than words and where every brushstroke tells a story of contrasts and harmony."
I’m Irina Sigitova, an artist based in Cyprus, continually pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms. Since graduating from the Kiev National Art and Architecture Academy and furthering my studies at the Cyprus Academy of Art, I have immersed myself in an exploratory artistic journey. My work, which has been exhibited across Cyprus, Switzerland, Germany, and France, defies conventional categories, embracing a myriad of techniques and materials. I love to create immersive performances! In my studio, SigitovArt, I create vibrant and eclectic art pieces using everything from oil paints to felt tip pens and graffiti sprays. This versatility allows me to traverse various artistic landscapes, from provocatively modern still lifes that challenge traditional notions of beauty to innovative portrayals of new iconographic cartoon heroes. My art reflects a deep engagement with diverse themes, embodying a bold fusion of cultural commentary and artistic innovation. As I continue to explore and expand the possibilities of visual art, my studio not only serves as a creative sanctuary but also as a space where I mentor the next generation of artists, sharing not just techniques but a passion for artistic freedom and expression.
Irina’s exhibitions and immersive performances, which span across Cyprus and various European countries, have consistently drawn attention not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their intellectual depth. Her art invites viewers to engage in a dialogue with the work, prompting reflection on broader cultural and personal themes. Whether depicting the vibrancy of everyday life or exploring more introspective themes, Irina’s work is a celebration of the richness of human experience. In addition to her visual art, Irina’s role as an educator at various institutions, including the Cyprus Academy of Art, has allowed her to impart her knowledge and passion for art to both young students and adult learners.
